Having breakfast on the deck while listening to the birds tweeting in the nearby trees, or watching the deer across the lake or an eagle diving in the lake to catch a fish, sitting around the fire pit with friends, are just some of the unforgettable moments you will experience during your stay at Sleeping Bear Lodge.

Built in 2000, Sleeping Bear Lodge (SBL) is a wonderful family vacation destination! Situated on a private gated, geologically unique 500-acre wooded preserve, this peaceful retreat offers 8+ miles of private trails and a private 5-acre lake with 150-foot sand beach.
The 3000 SF lodge is split into two levels and can comfortably sleep 10-12 people. Its 3 bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as its upper level open floor concept, showcase an integrated fully-equipped kitchen and bar, spacious family room with fireplace, laundry room, and an office space. The wrap-around wooden deck with a grill and outdoor seating gives you access to an amazing view of the lake and its surrounding area. This is the perfect retreat for 2 families or a group of friends looking to get away from their regular routine.
SBL lake has more than 150 feet of gently sloping sand beach shore for the kids to play and a floating fishing dock. The lake is annually stocked with edible trout, walleyes, bass and panfish. Alongside the lake, in the shed, you will find everything you need for a fun aquatic day - a paddleboat, canoe, kayaks, a jon boat (all solely for use on SBL property only), and much more.
There are excellent paddling, rafting opportunities and there are multiple boat accessible lakes within 10 minutes of the lodge.
A paradise for paddlers, grouse hunters, cross-country skiers, fly-fishers, hikers, writers, photographers and artists... Come relax among our resident deer, bear, bobcat, and eagle populations. If you need anything, the Lodge Caretaker and Licensed Guide lives just outside the gate.
Hunting and Fishing/Photography: Guides can be arranged for hunting and fishing. Consult WI DNR website (https://dnr.wi.gov/topic/hunt/regulations.html) for license and season information.
A guide can be arranged for unique photo opportunities (nearby waterfalls, wildlife, and more).
